Are you a passionate product analyst looking for a new opportunity to join a growing Business Intelligence team?

The Tote Business Intelligence team was established in 2021 and has made significant progress rolling out a BI strategy that puts data at the heart of decision making. We are now looking to expand our team as we move into the next phase of our BI strategy with the addition of a product analyst to lead the product analytics of customer behaviour and navigation of our digital platform and products.

About the role:

Reporting into the Head of BI your focus will be to deliver analytic support to the product and engineering teams to drive change in the way we research and identify new initiatives and track and asses the performance of initiatives delivered.

We are looking for an independent thinker with strong product analytics skills and the ability to confidently present data backed feedback to stakeholders to support the prioritisation of our product roadmap. This will be a hands-on roll and would suit someone who is confident work autonomously and has a passion/interest in sports betting.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead on the delivery of product analytics to key business teams ensuring that expectations are managed
  • Lead on the development, implementation and maintenance of the Tote digital analytics standards, methodologies and deployment of appropriate tools e.g. Adobe Suite, Google Analytics across multiple digital channels, e.g. implementation, tag management, tracking, data layering
  • Adopt best practice analytical methodologies and frameworks using Google Anlytics and Google Tag Manager (implementing tagging, creating journey flows, AB testing, pre vs post analysis)
  • Work to establish A/B testing of product feature releases, analysing the performance to inform ongoing product design
  • Contribute to the overall product roadmaps through the creation and communication of product research and analysis to support decision making
  • Play a key role in the decision making of future product development plans, analysis existing product performance and understanding opportunities of future builds  
  • Be the go to person for the product team to gain insight on previous deployments and performance v budget expectations 
  • Coach and train business stakeholders so that they become more data literate and self-sufficient on existing BI data products

Our headquarters in Wigan is the main hub for our team of over 200 innovative and ambitious experts dedicated to delivering our vision of providing the best betting experience for racing fans. The role will be 37.5 hours per week with core business hours 9am till 5pm, the role will be based from our Wigan HQ with approx. 2/3 days per week onsite. A full induction, on the job training and development plan will be put in place for anyone who joins the team.

What you’ll need:

We are looking for candidates with proven knowledge and expertise in GA and other digital tracking tools and are confident working with high levels of autonomy against an agreed set of priorities and objectives. The other key skills and experience we are looking for candidates to be able to demonstrate include:

  • Proven hands-on experience building out digital analytics tools from the ground up (e.g. Adobe Suite, Google Analytics)
  • Experience with Power BI, packages (Python, R), and writing SQL would be an advantage (this is how most of our non-product/digital insights are created)
  • Proven experience working closely with a product team on prioritisation advisement and assessing live product performance would be advantageous 
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to simply articulate complex domain areas to stakeholders
  • An effective problem solver with the ability to work under pressure and priorities
  • Ability to interpret data and drive business conclusions
