The perfect role for a passionate, experienced Ruby Developer!

 

Who are we?...

We are an exclusive online platform for popup shops, markets and events around the world!

We're looking to expand our team of experts to develop our platform further, creating beautiful, interactive sites through clean object orientated coding to optimise our legacy further!

 

 

What will you be doing...

You will find yourself settling in quickly to our agile team structure, working closely with our front-end design team and testing desks to develop and maintain the structure and core of our web apps and sites!

You will innovate, create and expand as our journey continues!

 

 

What you will need...

 

  • Expert Ruby on Rails knowledge (2+ years experience) including: Sidekiq, Slim templates, Turbolinks5, Unobtrusive Javascript (e.g. data-remote).

 

  • Experience with TDD and writing well-tested code with Rspec, Capybara and Jasmine (or equivalent).

 

  • Experience working with MongoDB (Mongoid) and optimising and scaling the database (e.g. sharding).

 

  • Experience working with ActionCable and Pub/Sub messaging patterns.

 

  • Experience working with third party APIs including SOAP and ideally ONVIF and understanding of Framework and API design

 

  • Some experience building platforms for IoT devices, including MQTT, containerisation/orchestration/configuration management e.g. Ansible, Chef, Docker or equivalent.

 

  • Commanding grasp of HTML, CSS, and related web technologies including Zurb Foundation or Bootstrap CSS

 

  • Experience with modern JavaScript libraries and tooling

 

  • Client-side performance and optimisation experience

 

  • Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated design and UX sensibilities

 

  • Background in Linux/Unix Automation and Administration

 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

  • Experience working remotely in small agile teams, specifically the SCRUM methodology.

 

 

It'd be nice to have...

 

  • Android/iOS app development with Swift and Java

 

  • OpenCV and ability to tune simple algorithms

 

  • Experience with other languages, e.g. Go or Rust

 

  • Experience with CI/CD (Continuous Integration) i.e. Travis or CircleCI
