Senior Software Test Engineer - Central Manchester

  • Modern Office located in Central Manchester, currently 100% remote during COVID-19, then moving to a 2/3 days WFH

We are looking for a proactive Mid/Senior Level Automation Testers who would like to work for a company renowned for innovation. We are the largest investors in research and development for our field, in the whole of the UK!

Our current Test Team Lead joined because of "the flat structure, culture of trust, and opportunity to work on Software products nowhere else in Manchester can offer". Our Hiring Managers are always pushing top promote internally, and ensure their employees have access to all the tools and knowledge they need to thrive. We currently have 35 tech staff working out of our modern offices space, and we are looking to add substantially to the team in coming months with an end goal of increasing headcount but 150 in Manchester

This is due to our brand-new Connected Technologies projects, as a member of this project team you will be working with tech such as Mongo, Kafka, Apache Maven, Jenkins and much more as the project evolves

We are looking for someone skilled with at least one coding language e.g. Java, JavaScript, Python and building frameworks with Cypress, or any other open source test automation tool. Ideally you will have experience of working in an Agile + Continuous Integration environment, following best practices such as TDD, BDD. We work very collaboratively here, carrying out daily paired programming/testing in our product Scrum Teams. There is no micromanagement to be seen in our teams, and you can start / finish the working day whenever suits you best!

We are looking for someone with:

  • At least 4 years Testing experience
  • Automation Testing knowledge - ability to write automation frameworks in Selenium or Cypress or Puppeteer
  • Experience of working in/running an Agile team
  • Test first mentality
  • Excellent communication skills
