What's the best thing about a career in Software Testing?

As a recruiter who specialises in Software Testing I regularly speak to candidates to find out what their motivation for a new role is, and one of the top reasons is always for job satisfaction. This week I decided to delve a little deeper and ran a Twitter poll to find out exactly what different Testers believe is the BEST thing about their career - check out the responses below!

“Being part of a welcoming community, being the glue that binds teams together, being a curious Explorer; getting things wrong, and learning from them; adding value to our customers ; constantly being asked our opinions; constantly helping others grow.” Via @Villabone

“I see it as a way to channel curiosity. When a Dev is given requirements they will work out what it should do. When I as a tester are given requirements I work out what it shouldn't do and look to confirm it.If you like asking "What if?" This career can answer that.” Via @nu_fenix

“The best thing about being a tester is to be able to answer Yes to all of these options and provide more. Examples: helping consumers to avoid trouble. Helping people as they invent useful things. Exploring relationships between elements of systems and seeing patterns...” Via @michaelbolton

"I like the fact the new technology, innovation, human condition, common sense and the pace of change means that testing is becoming more and more important." Via @jedi_tester

"Agile and all its thought processes because it suits my personal style" Via @jedi_tester

"I couldn't pick just one of them! All of them count for me and more! The community has been the best part for me with being new to the community! Everyone has been so welcoming!" Via @Robyn_d_ao
