Based in West London, we are a successful and fast-growing Data-Intelligence company that has created a platform for a number of clients across the UK. We are looking for an intelligent and competent Application Engineer to join the team who has experience with Node.js / Kafka / Python / Java / HTML5 / Angular and carry on the success that we have been having.

WHO ARE WE?
We are a team of engineers who originate from the UK government, and we have built our own Data Intelligence platform for breaking down data in real time. This involves Data Analysis, interaction and visualisation. We use this for various sets of data, ranging from small clusters of data to petabyte-scale, complex datasets.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
As Application Engineer, you will be an intelligent individual who is able to keep up in a fast-paced environment. You will have experience in developing and supporting complex applications. You will also have a wide knowledge of general principles in large-scale distributed systems. You will mainly be working on the Data Processing/Analytics and Data storage tiers. There will also be a need to contribute to UI Development when necessary.
You will be at the heart of the support function within the company, dealing directly with our customer and partner organisations. This gives you the chance to progress quickly into a more senior support or engineering role within the business.
WE NEED YOU TO HAVE
- 3+ years Software Development experience
- Experience with a number of the following: Java/Python/Kafka/Elasticsearch/Mongo/Apache/Node.js/Express
- Linux + RESTful services
- HTML5/CSS3
- Experience with either Backbone/Angular/React/D3
- Experience developing and providing support to Complex Distributed Systems
- Strong Communication skills/Experience with Stakeholders
IT’S NICE TO HAVE
- Strong academics (Masters or above)
- Experience working in a Data consultancy (or similar start-up)
